A historic street in downtown Columbus is being renamed in honor of Pastor C. Medley Hayes, a lifelong servant, leader, and philanthropist whose impact on the community spans generations.
The announcement came as a heartfelt surprise during Sunday morning service at Greater Beulah Baptist Church, where city leaders revealed that the intersection of 6th Street and 6th Avenue will soon bear the name C. Medley Hayes Way.
Located just steps from the church he has faithfully led, the newly named street stands as a lasting tribute to Pastor Hayes’ unwavering commitment to youth development, community unity, and service beyond the pulpit.
The Columbus City Council awarded this honor in recognition of Pastor Hayes’ profound influence, his dedication to uplifting young people, and the meaningful relationships he has built throughout the Columbus community.
